Report: Falcons RB Norwood out for year with torn ACL
UPDATED: 09/21/2010

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer is reporting that Falcons RB Jerious Norwood has a torn ACL and will be placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Norwood, a five-year veteran, suffered the injury in the Falcons' Week Two victory against the Cardinals. The Falcons' top backup for Michael Turner injured his knee after returning the opening kickoff 34 yards and was carted off the field.

Norwood played in 10 games with four starts in 2009 and ran for 186 yards and a TD.

The way we see it

Norwood is a decent weapon when healthy, but because of his injury issues the Faclons have lived without him in the past. RB Jason Snelling, the third guy on depth chart, is realy the No. 2 in temrs of who is the lead back ifTurner goes down. Snelling ran for 129 yards and two TDs against the Cardinals. Norwood is more of a speed back than Turner and Snelling though, as the backfield loses some versatility.
