NFL prospects from the University of North Carolina football program had sanctions handed down on Monday. Senior DT Marvin Austin has been dismissed from the football team. Senior WR Greg Little and junior DE Robert Quinn were ruled permanently ineligible.
Austin received illegal benefits and had been part of an NCAA probe. He reportedly received trips to Miami and California.
Little received $4,952 in extra benefits, including diamond earrings. He also went on trips to the Bahamas, Washington D.C. and Miami.
Quinn accepted two black diamond watches among benefits totaling $5,642.
In the Pro Football Weekly 2011 Draft Newsletter released in August, Nolan Nawrocki ranked Little as the No. 1 draft prospect among senior wide receivers. Austin was the second-ranked senior defensive tackle and Quinn was one of Nawrocki's 10 intriguing juniors.
