Where will the line for Super Bowl XLIV settle by Sunday? I'm having a hard time figuring that one out after seeing the line fall at some sportsbooks this week; as of this writing, the Colts are favored by as few as 4½ points against the Saints at some online books. I can't see the line going lower than that, but it's unlikely to rise to 6½ or 7 save for some unforseen circumstances,

I selected the Colts in my Super Bowl XLIV handicapping column, and I am not backing off of that pick, even if DE Dwight Freeney misses the game with a torn ligament in his right ankle.

The question I have is whether the Colts or the Saints will be the public's team of choice once the weekend starts and bettors start sending in the wagers in earnest. I'll be making some calls to find out, and hopefully I'll have some findings later in the week.
