The Pro Football Weekly readers have weighed in and Baltimore will represent the AFC in Super Bowl XLV, according to a recently completed poll of readers.
The Ravens, who are coming off a 15-10 loss to Cincinnati, received 1,473 (22.5 percent) of the 6,535 votes in the poll, which concluded on Monday.
The Patriots, who also are coming off a loss, were a close second with 1,229 votes (18.8 percent). Pittsburgh came in at No. 3, collecting 809 votes (12.4 percent). The Steelers, who have yet to lose a game this season, were the highest-ranked undefeated team.
This week's poll gave readers the option to select any of the 16 AFC teams.
Jacksonville received just 54 votes (0.83 percent) and was the least-chosen team to win the conference by the readers. The only other two teams to finish with fewer than 100 votes were the Browns (82 votes, 1.25 percent) and the Broncos (94 votes, 1.44 percent).
Houston (618 votes, 9.5 percent) beat out the Colts (557 votes, 8.5 percent) for the No. 4 spot in the poll, just as the Texans took out Indianapolis to start the season.
Following a 19-11 loss to the Steelers on Sunday, the Titans (307 votes, 4.7 percent) finished sixth in the poll. San Diego (277 votes, 4.2 percent), Miami (263 votes, 4.0 percent), the New York Jets (183 votes, 2.8 percent) and Oakland (174 votes, 2.7 percent) rounded out the top 10.
The readers aren't putting much faith in the Chiefs' 2-0 start. The poll had undefeated Kansas City at No. 11 (168 votes, 2.6 percent), with Buffalo (138 votes, 2.1 percent) 12th and the Bengals (109 votes, 1.7 percent) 13th.
