In PFW's late-week fantasy tips for wide receivers, Hakeem Nicks' knee is limiting his production and there's absolutely no excuse not to start Julio Jones against the Saints.
Giants WR Hakeem Nicks’ knee appears to be getting a bit worse. He has been held in check for the most part this season with knee and ankle ailments, and the recent worsening of the knee could make him a so-so play or worse at Cincinnati.
WR Julio Jones has been a road warrior for the Falcons in his 1½ NFL seasons, and we expect him to be highly productive once again vs. the Saints’ porous defense in Week 10. In 11 career road games, Jones, who had eight catches for 128 yards and TD at New Orleans last season, has scored 10 TDs, including each of his last six road games. He averages 103.3 yards receiving on the road in his career.
Steelers WRs
Emmanuel Sanders and
Jerricho Cotchery each figure to get more playing time with
Antonio Brown (ankle) expected to miss Week 10. Sanders will step into the starting lineup if Brown, as expected, is out, and Sanders should be targeted before Cotchery in fantasy leagues. However, Cotchery could also have some value in bigger leagues. The Chiefs are weak vs. the pass, which only adds to the appeal of both wideouts.
Lions WR
Calvin Johnson (knee) missed a full week of practice leading up to the Week Nine game at Jacksonville but played nonetheless, and he hauled in seven passes for 129 yards on eight targets (all team-highs). The lesson? Johnson doesn’t necessarily need to practice to play. Some teams are more stringent on this than others.
Ravens WRs
Torrey Smith and
Anquan Boldin are both solid starting options against Oakland in Week 10. The Raiders are shaky in the back end, with injuries forcing them to have re-shuffled their secondary.
