According to our Week 10 fantasy tips for running backs, Shonn Greene and Frank Gore should continue their strong seasons, while a few backups in New England and Miami may deserve a shot with good matchups this week.
Feeling fully recovered from the rib injury he suffered a few weeks back in the game against the Seahawks, we hear Niners RB Frank Gore is ready and raring to go at full strength this Sunday against a Rams defense that got gashed for 152 yards on the ground in its last game against the Patriots, across the pond in London in Week Eight. It’s worth noting that the Niners’ Week 10 game last year began a sharp decline in Gore’s production. Coming off five straight 100-yard outings, Gore had zero yards in six carries after getting nicked up early in a 27-20 win over the Giants. Gore didn’t have a 100-yard game the rest of the season, including the playoffs. This year, though, benefitting from more rest courtesy of change-of-pace complement Kendall Hunter (who might not be a bad fantasy “flex” option this Sunday), Gore figures to remain a potent force, especially against run-challenged defenses.
Last week, Adrian Peterson gashed the Seahawks’ vaunted run defense. Pro tip: Jets RB Shonn Greene is not Adrian Peterson, but that doesn’t make him a bad start in Week 10. You can always bank on Greene getting touches in a Jets offense that consistently tries to establish the run, and coming off a bye, Gang Green likely focused on returning to that ground-and-pound identity. It’s a tough matchup for Greene, but he should still be in lineups as a No. 2 RB or a flex.
