TE fantasy tips: Colts' Allen could be Week 11 sleeper
TE fantasy tips: Colts' Allen could be Week 11 sleeper
UPDATED: 11/15/2012

Make sure you take advantage of great matchups for both Antonio Gates and Greg Olsen this week, but Heath Miller's value could be on a severe decline, according to our late-week fantasy tips for tight ends.

Chargers TE Antonio Gates went 6-81-2 against the Broncos in Week Six on 10 targets. Denver’s defense has improved each week, but it hasn’t had an answer for tight ends — Greg Olsen had two touchdowns last week. Gates has not been consistent for fantasy owners this season, but he has a good matchup vs. the Broncos this Sunday.

Panthers TE Greg Olsen merits a start in just about all formats this week vs. the Buccaneers, who have struggled vs. the pass all season long. Tampa Bay is ranked last in the league in pass defense and it has allowed Antonio Gates and Brandon Myers to make 12 catches for 116 yards and three TDs in the past two weeks. Olsen had his most productive game of the season last week (9-102-2) and we expect another strong showing from him against the Bucs.

Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew caught his second TD pass of the season in Week 10. What’s more, he was targeted nine times. Overall, Pettigrew is second on the Lions in targets (69) and catches (42). He remains a solid starting option in most leagues.

Colts rookie TE Coby Fleener remains sidelined with a shoulder injury. Fellow rookie Dwayne Allen has caught eight balls for 106 yards in Fleener’s absence the past two weeks combined. Hardly gaudy numbers, though Allen could be busy in Foxborough Sunday.
