Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Tuesday that they will make a decision regarding injured RB Kevin Faulk in the coming days.
Faulk left Sunday's loss to the Jets in the fourth quarter after an apparent right knee injury. The 12-year veteran was visibly in pain and very frustrated as he left the game and sat on the sideline with ice on his knees.
"They're still working on it. I think part of it is how things come around in the next day or so," Belichick said. He would not speculate if the injury was season-ending.
The way we see it
Judging by Faulk's reaction to the injury, it could be serious and maybe season-ending. With 12 years already logged in the NFL and retirement likely looming, this would be a devastating blow to one of the Patriots' all-time most versatile players. Faulk has missed a total of just three games in the last four seasons and was on the field for 23 of 61 offensive snaps on Sunday, more than the other RBs.
