The talk continues to filter out of the Big Apple, as multiple members of the New York Giants made headlines toward the end of the week.

First, there was WR Mario Manningham insulting Patriots CB Julian Edelman and suggesting that the Giants would try to target him during the Super Bowl.

"I hope he's out there when we play them," the Boston Herald reported him as saying. "This ain't regular season. This ain't your real position, so we're going to try to expose you. It's all or nothing."

The Patriots finished 31st in passing yards surrendered per game and 30th in passing yards allowed per play in 2011, although they did finish seventh in interception rate. New England surrendered 282 yards through the air in its victory over Baltimore on Sunday, also tallying an interception, and held Denver to just 108 passing yards on Jan. 14, both significant decreases from its season average.

The talk continued when CB Corey Webster suggested in a New York Daily News article that he is in the same class as Jets CB Darrell Revis.

"I think I'm great," Webster said. "I think I'm the best thing out there. I don't think I'm second to nobody."

The Giants' cornerback also questioned whether Patriots WR Wes Welker was really that good, or whether he was just a beneficiary of QB Tom Brady's talent. Webster may well have to cover Welker during the Super Bowl, although the last time the Giants played the Patriots, he was matched up against WR Deion Branch, while CB Aaron Ross lined up opposite Welker. Last week, the Giants did choose to line Webster up against the opposition's best wideout, matching him up against 49ers WR Michael Crabtree. Webster excelled in that role, limiting Crabtree to one catch and three yards receiving.

Webster wasn't the only defensive player on Big Blue talking, as DE Osi Umenyiora addressed his long-running beef with Patriots OT Matt Light.
