The 49ers released veteran LS Ryan Pontbriand, the team announced on Friday.

Pontbriand signed with San Francisco in February after spending the first nine seasons of his career with the Browns.

In 2011, Pontbriand appeared in 11 games after playing in every game from 2006-10. He has played in 134 career games.
