The Steelers will add 3,000 seats to Heinz Field, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

A $1 increase for a surcharge on Steelers tickets and a new parking surcharge of roughly $2 to $3 would help fund the expansion by supporting a $20 million bond issue.

The total cost is estimated in the range of $38 million to $39 million. The new seats will be built in the south endzone near the scoreboard.
