QB Garrard says he is healthy, ready to play
UPDATED: 11/13/2012

Veteran QB David Garrard told Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer that he is healthy and ready to return to the field.

Garrard underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in August. Before the surgery, he was considered the front-runner to be the Dolphins’ starting quarterback. Miami released Garrard in September.

The 34-year-old did not play last season because of a back injury. In 2010, he started 14 games for the Jaguars and threw 23 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

The timing is significant, as four teams — the Eagles, Steelers, Bears and 49ers — had starting quarterbacks go down with injury in Week 10.
