Report: 49ers RB Hunter out for the year

49ers RB Kendall Hunter will miss the rest of the season after suffering an ankle injury in Sunday’s win over the Saints, according to Mike Garafolo of USA TODAY Sports.

Hunter, a second-year pro, is second on the team with 72 carries for 371 yards. He has two rushing touchdowns on the season.

Veteran RB Brandon Jacobs was active on Sunday and appeared in his first game of the season. He had one carry for one yard. The 49ers also have rookie LaMichael James, who has yet to appear in an NFL game, and Anthony Dixon, who has 12 carries for 48 yards and a score this year.
