The Patriots signed RB James Develin to the 53-man roster on Wednesday, the team announced.

Develin joined the Pats’ practice squad on Sept. 1, 2012. He spent most of the 2010 and all of the ’11 season on the Bengals’ practice squad.

Develin played his college ball at Brown, where he was a defensive lineman. He also spent time in the UFL playing for the Florida Tuskers. Develin adds depth at running back for the Patriots, as they are still without Brandon Bolden, who is serving a four-game suspension.

The Patriots re-signed WR Jeremy Ebert to the practice squad. Ebert was one of the team’s seventh-round picks in April’s draft.
