Redskins DB Griffin suspended four games

The NFL suspended Redskins DB Cedric Griffin for four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The suspension begins immediately and Griffin can return to the Redskins' active roster on Monday, Dec. 31, following the team's regular-season finale against the Cowboys.

Griffin has played in nine games with two starts and has 33 tackles, four passes defensed and one forced fumble. In Monday night's win over the Giants, he had five tackles.
