Report: Cutler has sprained MCL
UPDATED: 12/14/2012

Bears QB Jay Cutler has a sprained MCL, but is expected to start on Sunday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reported late Thursday evening.

A source told Biggs that the injury is “not remotely as serious" as the MCL injury that forced Cutler out of the NFC title game two seasons ago.

Cutler was listed on the injury report with neck and knee injuries. He left last Sunday’s game against the Vikings with a stiff neck.

“He practiced without any trouble at all. … He should be fine,” Lovie Smith told reporters on Thursday.

Cutler missed Week 11 with a concussion. He has thrown 16 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions this season. The Bears, who have lost four of five, host the first-place Packers on Sunday.
