The Panthers signed DT Colin Cole, the team announced Friday.

Cole has not played in an NFL game since 2010 when he was with the Seahawks. He had offseason surgery on his ankle prior to the 2011 season.

Cole has played in 84 games with 34 starts and has 182 tackles and 4½ sacks. He played for the Packers from 2004-08 and also spent time with the Vikings and Lions.
