Chiefs-Browns third-quarter notes
UPDATED: 09/19/2010

Here's some brief thoughts on the third quarter of Chiefs-Browns, with an emphasis on Cleveland's performance:

Third-quarter score: Browns 14, Chiefs 13

Positives: Browns CB Eric Wright and LB Eric Wright stuffed RB Jammal Charles on a pitch off the right side on a 3rd-and-1 on the Cleveland 6. The Chiefs had to settle for a 26-yard Ryan Succop field goal. ... Browns RB Peyton Hillis had a seven-yard catch in the right flat for a first down and a seven-yard run off the left side late in the quarter, highlighting his versatility.

Negatives: The Chiefs have had success attacking the middle of the Browns' defense when QB Matt Cassel has had time to throw. ... Mistakes continue to be an issue for the Browns, who have six penalties through three quarters.

Outlook: The Chiefs edged ever-closer in this quarter. The good news? The Browns have kept them out of the end zone on offense through three quarters. Still, this one looks like it will go down to the wire.
