Cowboys TE
Jason Witten (concussion) appears to be all systems go after practicing the past couple days. He got his bell rung in the loss to the Bears and was not allowed to re-enter the game, but Witten has checked out well medically since. And that's good news for Witten owners who are eyeing a potentially tasty matchup against the Texans and their 8.2 yards allowed per pass play, the second-worst total in the NFL. Chris Cooley burned the Texans last week, and Witten similarly should be a no-brainer start this week.
Giants TE
Kevin Boss (concussion) is perhaps ready to make his season debut this week after missing the first two games, but we can't recommend him as a strong play. Without having seen him work much this preseason or at all in the first two games, playing Boss — a mid-level fantasy tight end at best — is far too risky, especially against the best pass defense (statistically, at least) through two games in the Titans.
Entering their game against Oakland, the Rams were down to only two healthy tight ends: newly re-signed
Darcy Johnson, who is primarily a blocker, and raw rookie
Fendi Onobun. Keep an eye on Onobun, who showed some real skills in the preseason. Normal starting TE
Daniel Fells (knee) will probably be back next week, while backup TE
Billy Bajema (knee) could be out up to a month.
