"They were excellent on special teams last year with both (PK) Olindo Mare and (P) Jon Ryan doing really well, and now they've got the league's top kick returner (in Washington)," one daily team observer said. "(New special-teams coach Brian) Schneider is very gung-ho, and he has allowed (assistant special-teams coach and former 49er) Jeff Ulbrich to have a great deal of input.
