Bears claim OL Williams off waivers
UPDATED: 09/02/2010

The Bears' offensive line struggled mightily in 2009 protecting QB Jay Cutler, and the line hasn't shown much improvement this preseason. To add some depth in the trenches, the Bears claimed OL Edwin Williams off waivers Wednesday.

Williams, an undrafted free agent out of Maryland in 2009, played in four games for the Redskins last season and logged two starts. He primarily played center with Washington but also lined up at guard.

The Bears released RB Brandon Minor, an undrafted free agent out of Michigan. Minor did not log a carry during the preseason.
